90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Alina Kozhevnikova has to resort to explaining how tall she is after being bombarded with annoying questions and catfishing accusations. Russian singer Alina impressed an army of 90 Day Fiancé viewers by being candid about her disability while airing her journey with American boyfriend Caleb Greenwood on TV. Many were wooed by her positive attitude and even her melodious voice and quirky songwriting as they found themselves humming her Wi-Fi song with ease. However, Caleb meeting Alina in person for the first time in Turkey has changed things. His saying that Alina is shorter than he thought and revealing he never saw her waist down in 13 years made some viewers annoyingly assume her height and question Alina’s motives.
Alina has a hereditary genetic disorder, a condition called diastrophic dysplasia that has affected the development of her body. The rare type of dwarfism hasn’t stopped Alina from chasing her dreams although she does need help with day-to-day things and a wheelchair for longer distances. Until episode 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Caleb seemed to be aware of Alina’s condition and had also packed a person carrier so they could go sightseeing in Turkey. However, upon seeing Alina, Caleb appeared distant, refused to get intimate with her, and mentioned he didn’t want to end up “taking care of everything.”
Amidst viewers deciding whether they should give Caleb the benefit of the doubt or support Alina, she appears to have received inquiries about her height. Alina posted a screenshot of one of her tweets on Instagram and wrote how she can’t believe she has to explain her height to the internet. Alina explained that she hasn’t measured herself in a while, but people are speculating she's far shorter than she actually is.
The reality TV star pointed out, "when you’re little, every cm counts.” Alina also tweeted another “fun fact” wherein she recalled herself thinking she would "grow up to be an average height person” in her childhood. She took this as an opportunity to repeat what Caleb told Alina during their airport scene: “So, I can say that: I’m smaller than I thought.” In her replies, followers agreed that only Alina has the right to make such a comment, and Caleb was rude when he said it.
Before Alina made her 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days debut, she declared that she would use the show as a platform to spread awareness about what it’s like to date someone with a disability. Alina’s intention is to make those watching realize she is no different from anyone else at the end of the day. Meanwhile, Caleb claims he’s received “positive responses” from people with disabilities or those who are close to them. Still, viewers don’t see Caleb and Alina staying together until the end; possible spoilers suggest Caleb is single again and meeting other women in the U.S.
