Witcher 3 Beauclair Palace Art Took 3 Weeks To Paint & Looks Fantastic

An incredibly gifted artist has shared pictures of their Beauclair Palace painting, inspired by the structure's appearance in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Blood and Wine expansion. CD Projekt Red's Blood and Wine DLC for The Witcher 3 constituted the second and final story expansion for the acclaimed role-playing title. Notably, the content took Geralt to a new locale known as Touissant, a vibrant France-esque region unharmed by the Northern Wars but marked by a few dark secrets of its own.

Many of the region's secrets were well-hidden in the capital city, Beauclair, where the White Wolf ran into old friends and inadvertently made new enemies. Upon its release on consoles and PC in May 2016, the DLC in question received nothing short of universal praise, thanks to the sheer amount of content and the overall quality of the experience. The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion featured dozens of story quests, monsters, armor pieces, and weapons, all of which players could encounter across a 30-plus hour experience. Needless to say, many a fan remembers it fondly.

Reddit user and artist MapleFoxArt recently shared images of their now-completed Beauclair Palace painting, modeled after the Toussaint landmark's appearance in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The artist noted in their caption that the work took a total of three weeks to finish, a herculean effort that seems to have paid off tremendously. Every detail, including the colors, shadows, and slight imperfections in the winding pathways, all contribute to a piece that looks as though it was plucked from a fairytale. Images of MapleFoxArt's awe-inspiring work appear below.

The Witcher 3 fans interested in commemorating Geralt's final chapter in Blood and Wine by purchasing a copy of the Toussaint Castle painting are in luck. MapleFoxArt is currently selling printed copies of the acrylic original as 16-inch x 12-inch posters for $32.00. Printed on durable matte paper, the posters certainly seem high quality, further evidenced by the positive reviews of other works from the artist's shop page.

In the not too distant future, The Witcher 3 faithful will have yet another reason to explore both the base game and its stellar narrative expansions. CD Projekt Red confirmed several months ago that Witcher 3's current-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles should finally go live sometime in the second quarter of this year. As such, the eagerly-anticipated Witcher 3 updates could launch anywhere between early April and late June.
