Marvel Reveals Ant-Man From The Future With New Costume

Warning! Spoilers for Ant-Man #1 (of #4) by Marvel Comics below

Marvel Comics is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ant-Man with a new four-issue series that will closely examine each hero to don the mantle since the hero first debuted. This week, Marvel revealed Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk), Tom Reilly (The Thing), and Jordie Bellaire will team up for Ant-Man, which will look back at the different heroes who wore the costume. The series will also introduce the Ant-Man of the future, who will star in the series' fourth issue.

Spider-Man isn't the only Marvel Comics character celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2022. Ant-Man debuted in the comics in September 1962 in Tales to Astonish #35 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Larry Lieber. The hero has remained a fixture in the comics, as three primary people have taken on the role. Most famously, Hank Pym became Marvel's first Ant-Man and was a founding member of the Avengers alongside The Wasp. Then, Scott Lang became the main Ant-Man in Marvel Premiere #47 and is the most recognizable version of the hero, largely thanks to Paul Rudd's portrayal in the MCU's Ant-Man films. Finally, in 2006, a third Ant-Man, Eric O'Grady, was born in Iredeemable Ant-Man. Now, all three Ant-Man's will be featured in the new limited series, which will feature the Ant-Man from the future.

Al Ewing, Tom Reilly, and Jordie Bellaire will help usher in Ant-Man's 60th anniversary with the new Ant-Man four-issue series. Each comic issue will feature a different version of the hero, starting with Hank Pym and taking place throughout the years until the introduction of the new future Ant-Man. Ewing teased the new Ant-Man will debut in Ant-Man #4. In addition, marvel provided a look at the future Ant-Man's costume from Reilly, which looks cool and appropriately futuristic.

Ant-Man #1 will flashback to Hank Pym's earliest days as the hero, as a date with Janet Van Dyme goes awry when some villains attack. Check out the covers for Ant-Man #1-4, showcasing Pym, Scott Lang, Eric O'Grady, and the future Ant-Man below in costume.

Ant-Man is a significantly important hero to the history of the Marvel Universe, so getting Ewing and Reilly on a miniseries diving into each version of the character should have readers excited. As should the addition of a new future Ant-Man, whose design looks fantastic. Ant-Man #1 (of #4) by Al Ewing, Tom Reilly, and Jordie Bellaire goes on sale on July 8, 2022. The final issue starring Marvel's new Ant-Man arrives in comic book stores in September.
